How it all begins

This semester I am looking to make a change in my weight and to do so I’ll be following and measuring several things in my day to day life. While my week is hectic with a full time work and school schedule, this change will be entirely dependent upon intricate changes to my eating and maneuvering habits.

Per measurability,  Tuesday and Thursdays, on campus, I will be choosing the stairs instead of the elevators, and bringing healthy snacks to campus; baby steps! I will also be pushing myself to consume much more water than I currently am, and do so I will be noting my water intake, and pushing myself to take in more each week.

Every other day after this, will include me incorporating better on the go foods and beverages while I am on the road or at work, ridding myself of fast food and junk snacks. I will make weekly notes of my progress, and not just of my weight, but my mood, and how I feel physically. All are delicately intertwined with my journey and I need to pay close attention for me to be successful in this.

Taking action will require me to go to the gym at LEAST 2 times a week, as well as making sure I’m not taking short cuts to get things done, i.e., walking instead of driving, stairs instead of elevators.

Realistically, I have a tolerance built for the gym already, for I go, just pretty inconsistently and sporadically. With that I can’t sell myself short, and strive for the minimum. I need to draw out a plan that best tends to my physical needs, and match that with the proper intake of health foods and water.

Making sure I dedicate time to meal prep, and research what’s good for ME, not just good in general, is the most important. I understand boring foods can and will keep me down, so setting time aside to be well prepared to, well, prepare, plays a staple role in this journey of mine. Also dedicating time for the gym, working around my work and school schedule and keeping an organized layout of times and dates for myself to set aside. Reorganizing my schedule so that I am making a best effort to get 2 days of gym time a week is imperative to my process.

For me, to be successful in this, I need to have a planner, and a cute one. This will keep me organized, and have me coming back to it as well. I’m all about new and exciting adventures, but everyone has something that they do to keep things interesting, whether it’s a cute agenda book, with stickers and bright colors, new gym clothes, or a fun new water bottle to keep trendy! How do you plan on keeping things fresh and exciting on your journey?
